Analysis[]
Throughout the previous parliament, the Birthday Party had wielded considerable power, after winning a motion of no confidence against Aquatic Evil and undermining the government of Boohistory. Despite the following election producing a hung parliament, the Birthday Party was invited to form the next government, as a result of the Boo Party refusing to cooperate with the newly appointed opposition, formed by the Hyrule Scrolls Party. The government is generally thought to have done well, but has been criticised for being too cautious, and accused by some of being afraid of radical reform. It was perhaps the lack of legislation passed during this government that resulted in the extraordinary election result of early March that year (see March 1993 Democratian General Election). From the initial results it became clear that the Birthday Party would be unable to remain in office, and although Eriatarka1 technically remained Prime Minister for a short time after the election, he eventually had to step down, in face of overwhelming support for the Hyrule Scrolls Party. Despite criticisms of its laissez-faire attitude to government, Eriatarka1's prime ministership is generally viewed as a good one.
