For hundreds of years, Asoko Island has been a place of refuge and retreat for the people of Ostentia. Its gentle scenery, and the beautiful monastery in Quatyoko, allow visitors plenty of time for reflection, free from the cares of the world. To further enable this, the island has resisted the intrusion of modern technologies, with no motorised transport allowed on the island, and few phones and other electrical appliances. However, the island is far from isolated, with several ships travelling every day between the island and the regions of Oredia and Fondrop.
