The Foreign Secretary is responsible for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The minister is required to answer questions regarding the government's foreign affairs policy in the House of Commons, and though he or she has no other official responsibilities, it is generally expected that the Foreign Secretary will come up with suitable policy and legislation regarding foreign affairs. The Foreign Secretary will also be expected to deal with any international issues, either directly or via ambassadors.
