The Ostentian League was a union of nations active from roughly the 15th century to September 2007. It comprised the nations of Nashun, Fondrop, Mearor, Boondoxia, Oredia, Valaxia, and Falahn. The Northern Isles are considered honorary members; despite never actually joining they maintained strong economic and social links with the countries of the league, as opposed to the nearby Woland (then a country in itself). The League was formed at first as a military alliance in order to stave off the Autocratian Empire, yet grew into an economic union over time. Following the economic downturn of the mid to late 1990s the countries decided to unify into a single state, following negotiations started in the early 1990s and accelerated by The Great Economic Slump in 1993.
